https/http monitor of a sharepoint site failing

Just to double check, in the credentials you defined for APM to use, did you define the user name as 'domain\user'?  If you don't define the domain, this may be part of the reason it's failing to authenticate.

The authentication is user@domain, but I tried \user@domain to try to force local authentication.  Neither worked.

Credentials for Windows domain accounts should be entered into Orion APM in the <domain>\<username> format. For example: domain\user

Unfortunately, this is a hosted environment, so no domain involved, and it's also load balanced.  Is there no other option than <domain>\<username>?

So there's no solution?  APM doesn't support anything other than domain\user?

While I'm out of ideas, I'm asking around if someone might know why that user name is giving APM trouble.

To recap:

Originally, you tried user@domain as the user name in the HTTP monitor credential. But, that didn't work even though it's the user name you use to log on to Sharepoint over a regular web browser.

You then converted your user@domain username into domain\user format, but that still gives you an authentication failure for the monitor.

I've been informed that user@domain is incorrect.  The username is simply in an email address type format.  There is no domain, as near as I can tell.

Edit: Not sure what is meant by marking this an answer.  I was simply clarifying that there was no domain involved.  I still can't authenticate.

Justinh, if the user is local to the server, the format is usually localservername\user in place of domain\user.  I'm assuming you tried that already, but if not, give it a shot.

I could try that, but since the sites are load balanced, I can't guarantee I'll be attached to any particular machine.  That's why I tried the bare \username option.
