bad page URL alerting

Hi,

I've got some SAM component monitors that browse to URLs checking for specific content. Some strings are looking for expected good content while others are looking for error conditions on that web site. My bad-page error texts are things like "This site is suffering from error number". When this bad-text string triggers an alert it would be really useful to be able to capture the error number that follows the matched string.

Is there a way of capturing the entire retrieved URL page, or a portion of the page, so that it can be saved or embeded into the text of an alert email. Is there perhaps a variable which I could use to paste the entire retrieved URL content into an alert action?

The error message (example below) that is returned as a result of the failing component monitor can be included as part of an alert using the ${StatusOrErrorDescription} macro. This should work for all HTTP errors thrown by the web server, such as 404 Not Found, 500 Internal Server Error, etc. If there's some specific text on the page when a failure occurs that's unique to your application you'd like to include, I would recommend looking at Web Performance Monitor. It includes the ability to take screen captures as part of any web request failures that occur.
