WBEM/CIM protocol is needed to be enabled mode on ESX hosts?

Jump to solution

Hi All,

Would like to know if on ESX hosts WBEM/CIM protocol is needed to be enabled mode? We are monitoring the ESX via both ways: directly via Vcenter for 1 instance and on other directly using ESX creds.

So what is the impact if CIM protocol is disabled, does it just loose out on hardware health or complete ESX host monitoring?

Hi, @pratikmehta003 do you mean by following this workaround: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/76372 ?

Have you added the node like the below:SW-ESXi.png

Because it is still working even after patching, and it does NOT require expensive VMAN license.
