Unreachable status and Availability metrics

I know when you unmanaged something it isn't counted against your availability stats for that node. What I'm wondering is if a node or nodes are in the unreachable status then does that count against their availability. They aren't set to unmanaged but their parent is either down or unmanaged so they are now in this state. Was asked before a while ago but they never got this answered.

  • Unreachable counts against a nodes availability, as a node will only go into an "unreachable" status when it is "Down" but covered by an upstream dependency. In the event the node was still reachable, such as in the case of alternate routes, HA, etc. the node and application associated with that node would still appear "up" regardless of its upstream dependency status.
