Symantec Endpoint Protection definitions monitor

Folks, I am trying to monitor our server environment (via SAM) for when definitions are out of date for SEP (Symantec Endpoint Protection) but am not seeing anything in the built in templates. I do see some monitors for SEP but not specifically for out of date definitions.

note: I am running SAM 6.1.0 and so no agents on my endpoint servers (and wont have agents running in the near future

Any help would be appreciated

You might be looking at a log monitor, where you are specifically looking for a given EventID/text in the local application logs.If you can find out what is logged when the defs are out of date, you can construct a template to look for it.
The application template "Errors in Application Log" should suit this purpose.

So that is my current prospect and I am trying to find out from our SME SEP contacts on what those event IDs might be

Either of the following templates should include what you're looking for.
Symantec Endpoint Protection Client 12.1.x
Updates – This component returns the number of days that have passed since antivirus definitions have been updated.
Symantec Endpoint Protection Client
Days passed from last SEP client update
This monitor returns the number of days passed since the last SEP update. In the Messagefield, this component returns the date of last SEP update in the following format: Month/Day/Year.
