Solarwinds Agent installtion Failed on Windows

Jump to solution

Hello Community!!

Seeking your help....

we are trying to install an agent manually on the target server and agent installation getting failed with the below error.

Port communication from Target to Source is working fine. That is port 17778 is reachable from endpoint/managed host to Solarwinds Orion Application server.

What else can block this installation?

Any thoughts??

Since we are performing the installation directly on the target server this port 22 is not required.

We were able to fix this issue! Instead of IP Address, by using FQDN name of Orion Poller fixed the issue.

Hi there,

On the endpoint, open up powershell and execute the following:

Test-NetConnection orionserver.fullyqualified.domainname -port 17778

Try it again with the orion server IP address.

Do the TcpTestSucceeded results come back as True?

Is the Windows firewall on the Orion server configured to allow port 17778 traffic?

Also, is the Orion server behind a NAT? If so, then you need to add the endpoint side NAT address of the Orion server in the endpoint hosts file.

Are all the ports enabled per the agent requirements? SolarWinds Orion agent requirements

Ports 17778 and 17791 are open from the target server to the Orion server.

Does any other port need to be opened? Since we are trying manual installation directly on the target server.

Could this be due to CA un-signed certificates??

Thanks,

Ganesh
