Server Configuration

So I want to install the tiral version of APM along with my NPM to see how it could help, what do I need to enable or configure on the Windows Server 2003 side to allow NPM to detect monitor it.

 The only thing you need to turn on that's not on by default is SNMP.

Can APM and NPM be on the same polling engines?  How do you accomplish this?

 APM must be installed on the main orion.  If you want to install APM on polling engines, you need to buy APM polling engines (which are very low-cost).  Why do you need to install it on a polling engine?

I guess what I am trying to ask is that can the APM and NPM be running on the same server which has the current version of Orion NPM.  I am new to this and I am trying to understand the software. To me, polling engine is the server itself!!!

 Sure.  Install NPM.  Then you install APM on top of it on the same server.
