SNMP monitor for UPS running SNMP v.1

I set up APM monitor with few SNMP monitor components containing specific OIDs but APM monitor remains UNKNOWN however defined customs pollers polled data correctly. Why it happened? Is it snmp v.1 result APM 4.2 bug or I did anything wrong?

SolarWinds Orion Core 2011.1.2, APM 4.2.0 SP1, NPM 10.1.3, NTA 3.8.0, IVIM 1.1.2

  • It's likely an issue of GET vs GET-NEXT. The APM SNMP Component Monitor supports the GET method, but not the GET-NEXT method like the UnDP does. Be sure to specify the exact OID ID in your SNMP Component Monitor and it should work. If you're not sure what the exact SNMP OID is you can try adding a .1 to the end to see if that works, or run an SNMP MIB walk using the Engineers Toolset to see a complete listing of all OIDs on the device.
