SNMP Polling - Hyper V & DELL Disks

Hi guys,

Hoping someone might have a suggestion or solution to this problem!

We have 8 Hyper-V hosts servers (DELL PowerEdge) within a cluster, that host our critical VMs/Apps.

Originally I monitored these servers in SAM using WMI polling and that worked fine. But we also needed to monitor the local RAID disks on these boxes, and WMI for whatever reason can't to this.

So I decided to change the polling to SNMP and this picks up the status of the local disks fine. Unfortunately though, it can't monitor the Hyper-V role, and I've read that SNMP can't pick this up and that I need to use WMI to monitor Hyper-V!

Anyone else run into this issue, and how did you get around it? Is it possible for me to monitor through WMI & SNMP, without having to purchase any 3rd party products?

Thanks

Brendan
