SAM - False Positive Warning for ESXi Host - General Chassis Intrusion (Degraded/Warning)

Anybody have issues with false positive hardware alerts on ESXi hosts? Our sysadmin checked the IPMI on the server host, as well as the logs, and found no issues, yet Solarwinds is still reporting:

System Chassis 1 Chassis Intru: General Chassis intrusion Degraded / Warning (Assert)

  • Yes we've had the same issue for some time. It is quite annoying. IIRC it was mentioned at the SWUG in NY that vCenter 6.7 may fix the problem, but we aren't there yet, so I have no first hand knowledge.

Chuck is right, this is a known issue where the hypervisor/SDK does not report the correct values, unless you re-add the host, which triggers a refresh. When we filed a ticket with our VMware partners, they let us know that they believed that this issue was resolved in vCenter  6.7.
