REST API to assign status & response time icmp to node

Could you please help to understand, do we have any API, that can assign pollers (icmp) for a node.

We are installing agents on all nodes, and whenever the agent get registered, the node will be automatically added into solarwinds. But the availability by default i getting monitored using - Agent status.

We would need to change the availability check to icmp. Hence looking for the API

Hi dhinagar_j is there any reason that you cannot switch polling method to ICMP polling?

To elaborate I am monitoring through Agent based ( i am not adding them as 'icmp' node) , Expectation is to have my availability stats - based on ICMP , i can change that manually. but i will need to do it daily for alteast 20- 100 nodes,, hence looking for an API

Hi,
I am not sure why you would want to use ICMP instead of the agent status, the agent comms are more secure.

What you could do is upadte the polling method for all nodes in the Nodes table of the orion database to accomplish this.

i am also fairly sure you might be able to do this via powershell using the SWIS API as outlined in Github.
