Passing Variables within a query

I'm using an ODBC monitoring and wondering if there's a way to get SAM to pass the NodeName or IP variable within the query based on the node the monitor is assigned to? I'm having my doubts but wanted to make sure or see if anyone else had luck with using ${NodeName} or ${IP} within the query, or if there's another way to have this injected in.
