Menu bar / ribbon gone missing after upgrading to 2019.4 ?

If your website is default, i.e. you haven't customised it at all, then I recommend you rebuild it. To save my keyboard some work, the full process to do this is neatly outlined in this Success Centre article:

Little tip, when you come to running the config wizard, always specifically run as admin, even if your user has admin permissions. This will highlight any changes to the account permissions since last time you ran it. I've had environments where the account used for the initial install had changes to it's group memberships, which broke upgrades.

Also, if you run the permissions checker (YOUR_INSTALL_DRIVE:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\OrionPermissionChecker.exe) before running the wizard, you'll highlight any odd permission issues which could also lead to strange issues like this.

The permission are all good like below:

Only issue I see there is access to the TEMP directory for the Network Service security principle which the Orion services will run under. I would repair that, and then follow the steps in the Success Centre article, remembering to run the config wizard as admin when the time comes.

Sadly, it is still an ongoing issue, as at the moment and escalated to the Developer team.

itengineer Were you ever able to get this resolved?

I am experiencing the same thing, and have tried all the things in the various knowledge base entries, but no luck.

I have a support case open, and after a few hours of them trying the same things, still no progress.  If anything, the support steps have made the web page worse.

Hi andy.howard The issue was resolved by enabling the EnableXui settings on the global advanced configuration settings page then restarting all the services.

itengineer Thanks for that info.  Unfortunately for me, that setting is already enabled.  I tried cycling it, and the services several times, but it had no change in my environment.

Guess I can keep pounding on support to see if they have any ideas.
