How to alert based on threshold status: Warning or Critical

Hello forum,

I'm running SAM 5.5.

I'm looking for a way to alert based on the Warning or Critical status of a component monitor. The monitor type is 42 (Event Log). The statisctic value is the numbwer of events.

I would like to alert based on the status (Wrng, Crit) not the actual threshold value.

Can't seem to quickly figure out how to do this?

Any help?

Hi Sky2830,
this can be achieved by changing of component's setting 'If a match is found in a polling period, component status is:' to 'Based on Event Types'. In such case 'Windows Even Log Monitor' changes its status based on event types. After that you can use component status in your alert.

Sorry, this option has not been available in SAM 5.5 yet.

slaj is correct. This functionality was added as part of the SAM 6.0 release.
