File Count on Linux

Hello,

We have never completed any file monitoring in our office before until now. Someone has requested that we monitor a folder on a Linux device.

Essentially, there should be no files in the folder until the service stops running. At that time there will be a file placed in that folder and my colleague has requested an alert to be sent to him when it happens.

I have attempted to set up the file count component monitor but I receive a message that the folder path does not exist. I believe I am having problems because it is a Linux device.

What is the best thing to do in this situation? Is writing a script the only solution for file monitoring on Linux.

Many thanks.
