Download Oracle client for use with Oracle User Experience Monitor

If you intend to use the Oracle user experience monitor, there are Oracle components that must be installed on your Orion server. You can find the necessary components in your customer portal under "Additional Components". It's labeled "Oracle client".

I've installed the oracle client on my NPM 9.1 production machine, but the stats of the component is always "never up" and the error caused by the connection to oracle. Appriciate if you can help me.

after installing do I need to create a tnsnames.ora file so it knows about my database? where does that file go?

No. The net service name you would normally put in the tnsnames.ora file should go in the field "Net Service Name".

Yes. Without credentials we can't log in and execute the query.

If the dll we provide doesn't work for you, you should be able to get something from Oracle's website.

For APM 2.5, already download the APM Oracle Client and installed to working for some databases. How to uninstall it as want to install the Oracle Client from www.oracle.com to handle different character sets rather than English for instant client?
How to check that APM is using either APM Oracle Client or Oracle Client?
