You will never see application monitors as view resources ( widgets) as you would in MSP solution. Solarwinds core is an enterprise solution so you have a lot of standardization in place.

The best ones to use for applications are:

Application Health Overview

All Applications Tree

Active Application Alerts

If you need anything more custom you need to add a custom report.

Also don't forget to limit the view to the set of servers/APP you want to focus on.

You can't put the Application Template in any SAM Summary View. Do this instead:

a. Add All Applications Tree

b. Make a Filter to only show the Application Monitor that you want on that View

c. Add more Resources like:

   1. Applications With Problems

   2. Nodes with High Memory Util

   3. Nodes with High Ave CPU Load

d. You can add more Resources but don't forget to again filter it out to only show the Applications and Nodes that you want on that View.

piggybacking off of lhardswgeek​ stated about creating a summary page with filtered widgets, instead of filtering individual widgets you might also consider using a Custom Property as a View limitation as well.

Thanks, that was helpful. I created the view and filtered it to the nodes I need, but its not showing as an option when I choose to customize the dashboard from the "Admin>Customize>Select a Menu Bar to Customize>Edit Menu Bar" page. Does it take a while to show in there?

Also, would I limit the view on the view itself or within the widgets? I've been looking at the previously created views and those are filtered at the widget level using SQL language.

Perfect! thanks, I think I got it with filtering at the view level. What resources would I add if I want to monitor a published website on the nodes? Also, which resource to add if I want to monitor services? Can I filter the services down even further to specific ones related to the application?

That sounds like something i'd wanna do. Do you create the custom properties on a certain page? I can't seem to find it.

Click Settings > All Settings, and then click Manage Custom Properties in the Node & Group Management group.
