Configuring Alerts for SNMP traps

HI,

I have setup our server to receive SNMP traps and have configured email alerts to be sent based on these SNMP traps but i would also like to have an alert logged on the server and show up in active alerts the same as down nodes/interfaces etc but there doesn't appear to be an option for this when configuring SNMP trap alerts.

Is there a way to do this, if not can this be implemented?

On the SNMP trap rule select the Alert Actions Tab. Then click on the Add Action and then select Windows Event Log.
Then select Log Messge in Event Log on NetPerfMon Server. That should show it up in the Alerts.

I think may have missed a step. In addition to writing the event to the Windows Event Log you will also need to create a Windows Event Log Monitor in SAM to monitor for that event that will trigger the Advanced Alert Manager.
