About windows error log monitoring frequency

Hi all,

We have a requirement to monitor an error ID in windows log. If its more than 5 times in last 60 secs, they need an alert. I guess, if we keep the template polling frequency as 60 secs we can achieve it ( ??)

But is it recommended to keep a polling frequency of 60 secs?

We have lot of APM monitors and the DB is already having performance issues.

  • If you plan to have one Event Log component monitor polling every minute then I see no problem. If however you plan to run thousands of Windows Event log monitors at a polling frequency of one minute, then that is likely to cause some issues. Especially given the overburdened state of your database server.
