About windows error log monitoring frequency

Hi all,

We have a requirement to monitor an error ID in windows log. If its more than 5 times in last 60 secs, they need an alert. I guess, if we keep the template polling frequency as 60 secs we can achieve it ( ??)

But is it recommended to keep a polling frequency of 60 secs?

We have lot of APM monitors and the DB is already having performance issues.

If you plan to have one Event Log component monitor polling every minute then I see no problem. If however you plan to run thousands of Windows Event log monitors at a polling frequency of one minute, then that is likely to cause some issues. Especially given the overburdened state of your database server.
