SWQL Script for a Custom Report

Hi All,

I'm looking to create a custom report with the following criteria >

Number of switches per site

Number of access switch ports per site

Number of free access switch ports per site (admin down)

Names of switches with less than 5 ports available

there's no standard report that will allow me to do this and creating a custom table does not reveal the number of switches or interfaces as a numerical value, it simply lists all the switches and down interfaces.

Does anyone have or know how to create a SWQL script to create a table for this or point me in the right direction,

would appreciate any help,

thanks

Ghanaya

Actually you can do this with the custom table resource, on the columns you want it to count instead of listing individual objects you just go to where it says data aggregation and choose "count"

Oh yeah it won't do the case statement in the gui.  You could make 2 reports separately and combine the data in excel or maybe someone will do the leg work for the query.

Hi, thanks for the response, but I did try that before posting for a script. Data aggregation just responds with device/interface numbering, not how many switches have interfaces in a down state. Solarwinds tech support suggest creating a custom script to achieve this, thus the request.
