What We're Working On - Serv-U FTP Server, Serv-U MFT Server & FTP Voyager

Level 15

To receive updates on the Serv-U FTP Voyager roadmap, JOIN thwack and BOOKMARK this page

The Serv-U product team is working hard to build several new and exciting features. Some of these changes include:

  • Improvements in LDAP support & usability
  • Enhanced security with support for stronger cryptography
  • Adoption of SolarWinds licensing framework
  • Scheduler Enhancement and Capabilities

PLEASE NOTE:  We are working on these items based on this priority order, but this is NOT a commitment that all of these enhancements will make the next release.  We are working on a number of other smaller features in parallel. If you have comments or questions on any of these items (e.g. how would it work?) or would like to be included in a preview demo, please let us know!

If you're interested in learning more about ad hoc file sharing with Serv-U, please join our Webinar on July 25th (2013):

Any chance you will incorporate encrypting data at rest?

Hi Adam,

this is a known feature request, but I'd like to encourage you to create a feature request also here on Thwack on Serv-U FTP Server & MFT Server Feature Requests page, where other users can vote for your request and also comment with details. That would help us to decide on future releases of Serv-U.

I currently am using Windows Scheduler with this powershell script to "Delete Files After X Days" from our FTP

Delete files older than x-days - Cleanup Script

Would be nice to see this feature in next build.

Is there any ETA on when this will be supported on Server 2012R2 yet?

Level 8

Is there any update on when Server 2012R2 will be supported? This is definitely a mainstream version at this point

Just an update on things folks, we just released a Service Release last week and are currently in planning mode for the next version.  Be sure to vote in the ideas section for things you need and want and when we have a plan locked down, I will update this thread with the items we will be working on.

csastephen we currently support 2012 R2 - there was an bug in the documentation we need to fix that says 2012 RC2, when it was supposed to be R2.  Sorry for the confusion.
