How Does Subscription Pricing Work?

With a subscription, you pay to use the software for a defined term (anywhere from one to five years) with the right to renew at the end of the period. During the term of your subscription, you get access to 24/7 support and version upgrades, just as you would with a perpetual license.

How Does This Affect Existing Customers?

Subscription and perpetual licenses can be used together within the same OrionRegistered instance. With subscription pricing, however, your up-front costs will be significantly lower and—depending on your organization—may come from your operating expense (OpEx) budget as opposed to a capital expense (CapEx) budget. Check with your financial organization to determine whether there are any advantages or benefits and to figure out the best choice for you.

We’ll continue to offer perpetual and subscription licensing, and the choice is entirely up to you based on the needs of your organization. You can also mix and match options, so you can add subscription licensing on additional products to your existing perpetually licensed products.
