Discover your Network with SolarWinds Port Scanner

We’re happy to announce the release of SolarWindsRegistered Port Scanner, a standalone free tool that delivers a list of open, closed, and filtered ports for each scanned IP address.

Designed for network administrators of businesses of all sizes, Port Scanner gives your team insight into TCP and UDP ports statuses, can resolve hostnames and MAC addresses, and detects operating systems. Even more importantly, it enables users to run the scan from a CLI and exports the results into a file.

What else does Port Scanner do?

  • Supports threading using advanced adaptive timing behavior based on network status monitoring and feedback mechanisms, in order to shorten the scan run time
  • Allows you to save scan configurations into a scan profile so you can run the same scan again without redoing previous configurations
  • Resolves hostnames using default local machine DNS settings, with the alternative option to define a DNS server of choice
  • Exports to XML, XLSX, and CSV file formats

  • Nice, just downloaded and it's setting up now.

I've used a couple different ones of these and none have really provided everything I would expect - and most don't resolve all of the information needed. Here's hoping this is a polished product. (and another reason to tout SolarWinds)
