Maintenance Windows - Disable alerts only

We recently completed a deployment that caused a transaction to fail due to a CORS misconfiguration. We remediated the problem and deployed a fix right away, thanks to our Pingdom transaction check! However, our business folks received the alerts and of course hit the panic button. As a developer, it would be nice to be able to schedule a maintenance window that can specify "continue executing checks but disable alerts". Extra credit: allow for enabling/disabling individual user alerts. Thanks!

  • Dang - just noticed this was for Pingdom, not Orion - My Bad

  • Go to Node Management, select the node and schedule your Maintenance, you can either unmanage or just mute alerts.

Alternatively if you are doing a major rollout, you can disable all alert actions (mute alerts) by going to Alerts, click on the More dropdown and select "Pause actions of all alerts".  Note that you can still watch the Alerts page to stay on top of issues, you just won't get the emails, etc.

You can also schedule maintenance via the API - Orion.AlertSuppression
