Any other suggestions?
Have you tried rebooting the server where Patch Manager is installed? Are you able to push any existing packages to an existing client?
last night and this morning the sync was successful. No reboots were performed on the server over the weekend, very strange.
Is this site being updated? No updates since 6/28/16. Looking for Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1
Thanks.
Last update for third party patches was on 28 June 2016. Can we get a current update as we just received a notification for updates needed for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player.
Thank you.
The SolarWinds Update Catalog is showing Adobe Flash Player 22.0.0.209 ActiveX as the latest version, but it should be 22.0.0.210. When will the catalog be updated?
Yeah, and a new FileZilla client was released on 6/27/16 and it still hasn't been updated in the catalog.
I am getting a checksum error when attempting to use the downloaded file from Adobe. Obviously this is due to PM expecting 22.0.0.209 and I have 22.0.0.210 (according to website and details of the actual file). In addition, the file properties indicate that it was created on the 12th....a day before the catalog update. Normally I wouldn't be this picky, but according to Vulnerability Summary for the Week of July 11, 2016 and it shows 16 vulnerabilities that rate a 10. This means "FIX ME NOW!"
So, how about updating the catalog with a new/proper checksum for 22.0.0.210 Active X.
You can import Adobe's catalog for SCUP for use in PM in the meantime: Adobe - Player Licensing : Distribution Strategies
Alas, if we only ran SCUP. We just have WSUS and unless these catalogs can be imported into that, I am SOL until Solarwinds updates their catalog.
looking for the latest Java and Adobe Flash player....Any word on when we'll get the updates??
And FileZilla and Google Chrome and the new Apple iTunes. 😞
The silence is deafening.
Is there an update to when SolarWinds will release the Google Chrome updates that have been released?
Ok, so there are several applications that need to be updated. Google Chrome, Apple iTunes, Java. No updates for almost 2 weeks. We need someone from SolarWinds to address this soon. If not, I will have to resort to manually pushing this and that is a lot of work. Please respond soon.
Thanx!
Hey guys! Sorry for making you all wait so long for updates to the catalog. We are currently transitioning this work to a new team which has resulted in delays. Rest assured that this is temporary and we will be back to our normal cadence very soon. Today we published Adobe Flash and are continuing to work on the others on our radar.... Java, Chrome, Filezilla, and iTunes. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience!!
Thank you for the update...transitions can be difficult.
BTW, anyway SolarWinds can differentiate the Adobe Acrobat DC updates between the Classic and Continuous tracks? Very confusing when trying to update this new version of Adobe. Unfortunately, we have some of both and the SW catalog just describes it as Adobe Acrobat DC..I had to go to Adobe's site to see the latest versions for both tracks to see why the PM push was failing.
Thanx for all you do!
Thanks for the feedback, Wayne! I can see how this would be quite confusing. Let me talk to the team about this.
We just bought Patch Manager last week so it's a little disconcerting that updates aren't available several days after they were released. Currently waiting for
Google Chrome Version 52.0.2743.82 m
Java Version 8 Update 101/102
Hi James! I completely understand your frustration. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this is only a temporary delay and soon we will be running at full speed soon!
Will there be new 7-Zip packages in PM? The only version I see available is 9.20.
Any reason why the "Java Runtime Environment 8u101 (x86)Upgrade)" package is looking for v8.0.920.14 under the Installed Rule while the other 5 packages for JRE 8u101 are looking for v8.0.1010.13? I normally duplicate the packages and then customize them to uninstall previous versions of JRE we have running here so that's why I noticed the discrepancy. I changed mine to 8.0.1010.13 to match all the rest of the packages.
DONE! Thanks for your patience!
7-Zip isn't a provided package from SolarWinds; perhaps someone in your org made that 9.20 package as a custom package at some point?
7-Zip was provided at one point like unofficially. I basically copied the package and inserted the newer version and it works great to update 7zip.
Lawrence Garvin Nov 6, 2013 7:39 PM (in response to jbaits)
Just to clarify, in November, 2012, we researched the possibility of including 7-Zip in the catalog, but at that time we found that the binaries for 7-Zip were not digitally signed, and opted to not include them in the catalog out of concern that the lack of digital signing would cause additional confusion. (At the time Patch Manager also had internal issues with unsigned binaries, which has since been resolved in v1.85.)
In response to the situation in Nov 2012, we posted a SAMPLE package file for v9.2 which was based on the research we did to build the detection logic for that product. v9.2 (Nov 2010) is still the current release, so I would suggest grabbing that sample package as a starting point.
Two other products that were handled in this same manner are ImgBurn v2.5.7.0 and Notepad++ 6.2 (subsequently we started packaging Notepad++ in the actual catalog and v6.5.1 was released on Monday)
ding The packages are coming in with different naming conventions as they used to and d/l locations are failing on some. If the new team could please use the way its always been done and leave off the "copy of" so I know whats from solarwinds and what I have created please?
Heh... I stand corrected - when i go back and review the sync details in Software Publishing, the sync i got on 7/28 did include 7-Zip 9.20. I'm not sure (yet) if that was a one-off thing or if it will become a regularly supported application.
Why is flash now trying to download through the software? Previously I had to go out and download from Adobe and import. Now it's trying to download from solarwinds and it's not working...
RE: the Adobe Flash package(s): Try synchronizing (under Software Publishing) again now; the packages should have been updated.
What the heck is going on over there?
Yeah, mine is showing the same Adobe packages being revised 5 days in a row. Been out of the office for a week and I see new packages are still trickling out at a snail's pace.
Im not even going to look at third party updates until the new guys get their act together. After seeing whats coming out in the last week or so its just a mess and ill wait until they know what they are doing, or patch stuff with another tool like PDQ for a bit.
Regarding Adobe Acrobat Reader. PM has the base installer for 11.x published and then you can push the updates for that platform as they are released. However, we are looking to move to Acrobat Reader DC (Classic Track) and I do not see the base installer. Anyway, you guys can put this in the catalog? For now I will have to push it out the old way (prior to PM) and rely on PM to apply the DC updates.
Also, I made a suggestion to differentiate the Adobe DC Classic vs Continuous tracks. Would be nice if they were labeled as such. As of now, I have to go to Adobe's site to see which update applies to what.
Thank you.
Itunes 12.4.3 is released . Will an updated package be available soon ?
7-Zip wasn't officially supported, but it is now! It was my understanding that we had some issues with the older versions.
Here is what I see inside Patch Manager. Will the new versions become available soon?
Yes! These are being uploaded now:
7-Zip 16.02 (x86)
7-Zip 16.02 (x86) (Upgrade)
7-Zip 16.02 (x64) (Upgrade)
7-Zip 16.02 (x64)
Sweet!!!
We were working out some kinks, but I think we have it all under control now. Let me know if you're seeing otherwise.
Any chance of an updated package for Google Earth? New version 7.1.7.2600 is out and I see there's been no new package for it from SolarWinds since 11/04/13.
With the latest release of Google Chrome, will there be a Business Enterprise MSI released for version 53.0.2785.89? I see the EXE available, but not the MSI.
Yep, I'm waiting for the Business Enterprise .MSI versions too.
They just released another new version, 53.0.2785.101 and the MSI correctly points to that release.
stcain is correct. Even though the Business Enterprise MSI has been deployed, our IT group has permissions to update Chrome whenever, so if you do that you get upgraded to 53.0.2785.101. We now need PM to have this in the catalog so we can deploy this to all of our users.
Thank you for the new Business Enterprise MSI for Google Chrome. Any idea when PM will have the latest version (23.0.0.162) of Adobe Flash Player available?
Chrome has already been updated again, 53.0.2785.113 is out now.
Just wondering when we will see some of the new packages available. Google Chrome, Adobe Flash player, etc. I know you guys are still transitioning, etc but we have become somewhat dependent on SolarWinds PM and I really don't want to go back to the old way of deploying app upgrades.
Both are in progress now!
