We are creating alerts with rest api but alert condition is not triggering?

1) We are creating alerts with rest api and generating trigger conditions like when node is down, till here everything is working good but on meeting the required condition alert is not getting created.

2) But above condition on editing in SolarWinds and going through its next buttons is creating alert on meeting the trigger condition

so why is the same condition not working through REST API.

Hello,
How are you creating the alert using the API? As far as I know there is no way to create a new alert definition using the API, but rather you can import an alert definition. The alert configuration entity verbs are highlighted below.

Additional details about your script would help. Be sure to read through the Orion.AlertConfigurations section in the Alerts documentation here:

Because the desired behavior of the alerts is captured in XML, you could invoke the SWIS Export verb on Orion.AlertConfigurations through the API to inspect the configuration. Perform an export on an alert that you defined through the Web UI and one that you created by calling the Import verb via the API. Compare the XML, looking for any unexpected differences between them. That may tell you what you are missing.
