NTA, alert when any endpoint > xxPPS or endpoint > xxMbs and unique visitors > xx

I have looked throughout Thwack, as well as our systems, and I am unable to find a way to accomplish this within our Orion setup. (Orion Platform 2013.2.1, NCM 7.2.2, NPM 10.6.1, NTA 4.0.0, IVIM 1.9.0)

We have been seeing more and more DDoS attacks within our network, and we need a way to alert on them.

I understand NPM/NTA does not yet offer some basic and much needed features, such as, alerting based off time of day average over past xx weeks, which would alert us when a network bandwidth spike/attack is happening.

As for this specific alert, I can see most of this information through a few reports in the new web report area.  However, I do not need a report, so much as I need to be notified via alert and/or email.

It would be nice to have the information show up within a resource on our main summary page, however, I could live without it for now, as long as I can be notified.

Hopefully I have simply overlooked something and this is totally doable with our current Orion setup... Based off of the free 3rd party tools we currently use for this, everything my brain tells me is yes yes yes, NPM/NTA should be able to do this... but my eyes are not as optimistic as my tiny pea-brain...

Thank you,

-Will

Will,

You are not seeing things.  Currently NTA does not have that capability on what you are trying to accomplish with triggering alerts.  Improved alerting is definitely on our road map just unfortunately, I can not give a specific which release this will be addressed.  You should check here for product updates.  This site will link you to the most current roadmap items.

And this is now available in General Release as NTA version 4.5!

You can check out the Release Notes, download the new release on the Customer Portal, and get all the help they need with the upgrade at the Success Center.

mebway Thank you for the information.  Hopefully it will not take too long to get this functionality working, as these DDoS attacks are only increasing in number, and we need a better way to mitigate them...

I will keep a lookout for the product updates.

Thanks,
