Can a PCAP be used?

(Exploring solarwinds) Just curious to know if we can use a PCAP file in solarwinds?. The theme is to get the total sum of bandwidth and list of lisitening ports. So can we work on that with solarwinds?.

Hi munna31 I don't know of a way to do this natively in SolarWinds products. I can offer this suggestion which involves the use of a third party tool which can be integrated with SolarWinds NPM, SAM, etc…

Our LANGuardian product can accept a live flow of packets from a SPAN, mirror port or TAP. Alternatively, you can upload a PCAP file and it will generate reports like what you are looking for. PCAP import page at the link below on our demo (this won't allow you to upload, you would need to run your own trial version)

Data \ reports can be shown within the SolarWinds dashboard like this:
