Feature Requests "Search for nodes" in the header

"Search for nodes" in the header

It would be nice to be able to place the "Search for nodes"-component or a similar one in the header of the orion-website.

Maybe just under "username" and "settings".

We use search often so it's nice to always have them available, in all views.

Agreed it would be nice as a static object. You could go further and add any search to it. That would include IP addresses, Apps, interfaces, etc. Using a drop down like the current search tool. It would also remove the need to switch as much between tabs so easier for a NOC employee to navigate around.

I have been using solution buy hcy01uk described here Add “Search for Nodes" element in every Solarwinds Webpages header with ‘hit’ Enter enabled
After upgrading NPM to latest version - this customization has gone. Obviously
Would be nice to have this permanent

A google-like search would be nice. Make it fast and easy to work with. No dropdown lists i think.
search for "switch01" returns all nodes/interfaces/apps/etc containing "switch01"
search for "node:switch01" just returns node containing "switch01"
search for "app:sql" returns all applications conaining "sql"
etc.
This would be very nice :-)

good request - question for others: "Would you prefer "Google" type of search in order to find what you need? Or do you prefer well sorted and categorized UI to find your info/element?"
