Work around for WMI polling with a server that has UAC enabled

Since Microsoft has now integrated UAC into the Metro UI for Windows server 2012 and a registry hack is required in order to poll devices by WMI in NPM I'd like to see this issue addressed when the next version of NPM is released.  WMI polling is the only way to get VIM to work and also SAM.  UAC blocks this traffic.  By disabling the UAC in Server 2012 we are not sure what all that will break with other microsoft products and applications are installed on a server.  This may or may not be an acceptable or supported practice.  Please provide a work around.

  • Good to know about server 2012 before we start migrating to it.  As a DoD NPM user we are now prohibited from using SNMPv1 or SNMPv2 for polling systems.  Since Windows does not support SNMPv3 the only choice is WMI.  Any way we can request additional WMI polling capabilities within NPM?
