Variable Report


Hi,

I cannot find a way to do this in SW at the moment, but I would like to create reports that allow me to input the particular node that I want reported on at the time of running the report.

Example: I have a standard bandwidth report that I use, but sometimes I want to run this against 10 different nodes without editing the report each time to pull data. What I would like is to be able to supply parameters to select the specifc report I need

    This was exactly where my head was thinking about it all that time ago. Not sure others really saw this as a benefit, but when you want to provide specific reports to different individuals then this becomes very powerful in my opinion. You can expand to take the input from a CSV file for example. Comes into it's own with very large installations I feel.

  • To me, this seems like a very important piece.  The upgrade of the web reporting was great, but lacking the flexibility of even one variable.  So if you want a report for 30 customers, you need to create 30 reports.  With a simple variable, it would easy to do a look up, select that customer and run based on that filter using that variable.  Maybe I'm missing something, but this would be a huge improvement and I feel a small overhead to provide it.
