Switch to Google Maps for Worldmap

Switch to Google Maps for Worldmap

Having a world map is great and MapQuest is ok for having site locations.  However when you zoom in on a site and we want to place a device in the exact location that it is where MapQuest fails because there is no satellite data.  I think most of us would be willing to put in our own Google Maps Key to keep the cost down.

Just finished class today and this was brought up. Apparently it was done this way due to licensing issues with Google. $$$$

I may be wrong but I think a lot of users would be fine with entering their own Google Maps API key to get access to Google Maps in Solarwinds.  The usability is so much better.  Right now WorldMap is pretty much useless.

I'm ok with MapQuest, however I'm having a related problem. The issue is with the absolute location when it comes to the automatic node placement. I would like to add Latitude and Longitude values in the 'SNMP Location' field on my devices, but it seems Solarwinds have included the Reverse Geocoding feature when implementing MapQuest, which plots the marker on the nearest address to the given coordinates (not ideal if you want the marker over a specific building on a campus for example, but can see how both options are helpful). Maybe Google Maps would allow this. Upvoted.
