We just updated to Orion Platform 2019.4 HF2 and there was considerable excitement about the new 'Device View' we had been reading about, that is, until we actually completed the upgrade. It was understood that the new 'Device view' was a technical preview and that switch stacks were not supported. But that was OK.... Our environment has a mix of stand-alone switches and switch stacks. We will just use the new view with our stand-alone switches that is pretty easy to do.
Once the upgrade to 2019.4 HF2 was complete we jumped right in and started reviewing our stan-alone switches in the new device view... Imagine our disappointment when we discovered that none of our stand-alone 2960S or 2960X switches will display properly in the new 'Device View' every switch that was tried the display is blank..... We contacted support for assistance and we were told that the documentation we had been reading left out one very important detail. That detail is that the switch can not be using the '-UNIVERSALK9-M' stackwise image. Other images are OK and are supported. In the end we have 500 stand-alone switches and/or switch stacks that can be viewed in the new 'Device View' only because of the image.
I would like to see support for a single stand-alone switch running the Cisco '-UNIVERSALK9-M' stackwise image.
