One alerting engine

You are missing out on a ton of great features using that ancient NPM 10.5 - the product had a number of major enhancements in the last 1.02 of release bumps.  Even 11 is a big step back from what 11.5.2 does now.. *especially* fond of hands-free world map device placement based on SNMP Location string (1/2/2c/3).

Alerts were moved to the web in NPM 11.5   SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor Release Notes

Where does it say this has been integrated?

This isn't true for any basic polling based alerting, or alerting on UnDP's.

Syslog and Traps notably, have not been integrated yet, but the old Advanced Alert Manager is effectively gone at least as of the 11.5.2 release I'm running today.

This would be great. I am struggling to learn the complex methods of adding and monitoring nodes. So far I am confused and quite annoyed by the way you have to create a node then RDP into the server to setup alerts.

Seeing that reports and some alert functions have been "Webified",  I would think that alert UI consolidation is on the stove too. Great comments. And this one is has been marked as "what we are working on" so it looks like the gears are turning.

As called-out on our most recent "What We're Working On" post (http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-171520) we are certainly looking to unify this functionality and move to the web. It's a pretty large undertaking- so your continued feedback is most appreciated.
