Netpath on Linux/Raspberry Pi

Netpath on Linux/Raspberry Pi

It would be great to be able to deploy Netpath nodes as little Raspberry Pi boxes all over the network. A Linux version could also be run in Docker, which would allow it to be easily placed directly on some routers or the cloud for remote path monitoring.

From a monitoring stand point we would rather use stand alone machines instead of using a users machine.  While we could put a Windows desktop in our remote locations that is not cost effective. Even the smallest PC would be $300 and then there is the yearly license for Windows.  Deploying an open source device that is $50 would be a huge benefit.

Orion Agent for ARM Linux - Raspberry Pi

NPM 12.2 Beta contains an ARM based agent installation!

Just installing it now, to have a play with it, though all my Raspberry Pis are at home.

@toy4two

Ubuntu is already covered, however Mint isn't, but as it is a variation of Ubuntu, you may be able get away with an install.

The current version has the following agent install flavours available:

NetPath Linux support would be a game-changer for the company I'm currently consulting for.  They are considering other alternatives that allow some distributed testing from small-footprint Linux agents, but being able to deploy NetPath  cheaply across many sites on small linux boxes would immediately kill that idea.

Any idea if Linux OS is supported yet on NetPath. Saw this old post...

Having NetPath support on Linux OS hosts would be awesome.
