I work for a large company and we have a few hundred + switches and not as many routers. I would like to see the following implemented.
As we all know every network device has a MAC address and there are online tools that tell you the manufacture. I would like to see a tool to cross reference the MAC address table on Juniper (preferably) and Cisco along with other network switch products and then reference a manufacture database to give us an idea of what is plugged into a specific switch port(s). This will assist in types of devices and locations to where a product is plugged into your network. Similar to a switchport mapper but adding the MAC and Manufacturer name to the results.
