This request may have been suggested already and I just couldn't find it. So if that's the case, my apologies.....
It would be nice if we could add nodes via excel spreadsheet & then subsequently use a spreadsheet to identify which interfaces to monitor on those nodes.
Here's the background on this request: We're upgrading from 12.1 to 12.4. We have almost 3K devices that need imported into the new deployment. We do NOT have a set standard of what interfaces get monitored; each device is different. It's completely dynamic. I'd be ok with still having to discover the devices if I could then just create an excel spreadsheet with what interfaces should be monitored on each device & import that. As it stands, I've only discovered 174 out of 3K devices & I have to go in to Manage Nodes & list resources for each device since I can't set criteria for automatic selection during discovery. This is going to take a while...
