IPAM: IP address availability check based on non-icmp techniques

Many of the servers have firewall / iptables enabled and for security reasons ping blocked. We need to check the availability of IP address using non icmp methods like telnet or rdp etc. Because of this IP conflicts can be avoided.

  • Hi, I was just wondering if there are any ways to add record into IPAM when IP is not pingable but exists in DNS. We have OOB subnets and Network team is very strict with allowing any kind of traffic to there, including ping. So, we just need to have them in IPAM regardless of the ping, as long as they are in DNS. Is this possible?
