FEATURE REQUEST - CASE #959530 - Network Atlas Support of Etherchannels and Redundant Physical Links (Link Utilization)

Network Atlas is currently unable to accurately depict the link utilization of etherchannels.  This is true whether you attempt to add a link of the etherchannel itself or if you add a link for each member of the port channel individually.

Whether you monitor the port channel or the physical interface members themselves, the link utilization label only indicates the percentage of one of the links in the port channel randomly.  It is not always the first member, nor is it always the one under the heaviest utilization.

This is true whether you use the 'ConnectNow' feature or manually connect and assign the links.

This makes the Network Atlas weather map ability fairly useless in a redundant campus environment where all or nearly all network devices are connected with redundancy via etherchannels.

Network Atlas should be able to show the true utilization of a port channel (sum of available bandwidth of each member / total current usage across all members).  It should also be able to show the individual utilization of each link member if an administrator chooses to monitor the individual links themselves as opposed to the etherchannel.

In the attached image, you can see that two separate links that are monitoring two individual members of an etherchannel both show the exact same link utilization of 83%.  In reality, at this point in time one side is using 83% and the other side is only using 2%.
