Enable Hardware Health monitoring for HP/H3C/ Aruba/ Riverbed/Palo Altos

I am submitting this feature request for multiple device types...

I think its important that hardware health for all network devices should be provided by default... it becomes way too difficult to build UnDP or trap method, specially the later one's as we wont know until testing is done and then write some SQL query to convert into an alert..

I am right now stuck with Riverbed, multiple HP/H3C/Aruba devices where hardware health is not getting identified by default... with UnDP some are responding with table and not proper values...

I know it would be difficult to get all by default but hardware health has to be available...

  • Hardware heath monitoring is such a basic feature, it should be the bread and butter of any Network Management software. I would like to help to get support added, Im happy to do some SNMP walks and upload if you can provide a current link.

I currently have 54 5412zl V2 switches unmonitored - we have another 24 incoming next month. There is an existing feature request for these switches, it is now 2 yrs old :(

I have 32 2540 switches unmonitored - these will be replaced in 2yrs time.

We will have 2 x 8320 (Aruba CX OS) and 42 3810M's which we will running in stacked mode incoming this summer as part of the wireless refresh project. Support for these and stacking support is crucial for us.

After the addition of these switches I will be looking at approx. 32% of my network being unmonitored so this is a massive area of concern for us, we have been using SW NCM for a few years, but recently invested in IPAM, NTA and NPM so I obviously want to help here so we can leverage our investment to use it as intended rather than have sections of the network dark to us.
