It is my pleasure to announce that the NPM 2020.2 Release Candidate is now available in your customer portal.

Each release candidate is a fully tested and supported product version which you can use to upgrade your current production servers while retaining your complete configuration and history.

Version 2020.2 is the next release following NPM 2019.4 and is compatible with Orion Platform 2020.2.

Your Feedback Counts!

The NPM team is incredibly interested in your feedback, and on top of that, when you participate by downloading and installing the RC, you get THWACK points. More importantly, your feedback shapes how we develop our products. Post your thoughts, questions, and concerns into the RC forum and not only will you be able to get some SolarWinds swag, but you may help to make NPM a better product. If you have a particularly compelling idea, you should also consider putting in a Feature Request and encouraging others to vote on your idea.

Clearly the dev teams have been hard at work... can’t wait to start seeing some of these improvements. Nice work and thank you!

This looks amazing! I need to build new lab to test it 🙂

Awesome!

Looks very good. the UI has needed help for a long time.

We are on the cusp of upgrading from 2019.2, but if we go to 2020.2 RC2, I have some questions.

1. What is the effort involved to install fixes made available between RC 2 and the general release? Are hotfixes or buddy drops made available, or is the upgrade process the same as, say, going from 2019.2 to 2020.2?

2. When is the general release expected to happen?

3. What is the history or anyone's experience of RC's having major issues?

@hebron1212

1 - The upgrade process would be the same as going from 2019.2 to 2020.2.

2 - I don't have a specific date I'm able to share at this time.

3 - Release Candidates are sometimes installed in production environments, but it's generally best to wait for GA releases for production environments. Others may pipe in here to share their experiences!

@jason.carrier Thanks!

- is there a way to display Syslog's and Trap's in 2020.2 RC as a widget? I can not find it on my installation?

- as well as the regular widget's, they are away, not visible??

regards Pascal

Many thanks for this.

Any plans for Viptela Cflowd?

Also monitoring of vEdge devices is very basic in Solarwinds NPM. Can we expect something for vEdge devices in coming version?

Regards, Raheel SK

Hi Jason,

Do we have any indication of when this will go GA?  Weeks/Months?

Just a rough idea will help as this RC contains hardware health support for Aruba switches which we have been waiting for quite some time.

Glen.

GA guesstimate/estimate would be awesome!
