"Alert Migration Failed"

After my last upgrade to Orion 2019.2 (and probably a few versions before this and I just ignored this message,) I see an error that three of my alerts could not be migrated. They are disabled but I'd like to just delete them so the error doesn't show up next time. How do I delete and/or fix these alerts?

I wasn't able to find these three alerts in the AlertDefinitions table. I checked a few other tables but was unable to see these alerts there either. I then went to see if there were some configuration…

Go to your 'Manage Alerts' page at [https://OrionServerURL/Orion/Alerts/Default.aspx] and find these alerts in the list. All you have to do is click the On/Off toggle.

These alerts don't even show up in the UI. I'm assuming they are out-of-the box alerts from an older version that can't be migrated.

I've never seen those alert names, but as far as where they might be lurking in your system, check the alertdefinitions table in the database, thats where old alerts were stored before they moved them to alertconfigurations a couple years ago.

I then went to see if there were some configuration files where I might find these alerts. I was able to find the words Abnormal and Codewords in a file associated with VoIP monitor but I wasn't able find the full alert names anywhere. This isn't a big deal. I'll see what happens next time I upgraded and see if it bothers me enough then to look info it further.

I just did the 2020.2 upgrade, and see these 3 alert migration errors yet again.
Did you ever find anything more on this?

No, I haven't found anything yet. I'm upgrading to 2020.2 next week. I could not find the alerts in the AlertDefinitions table.
