I think custom properties will quit you better in this kind of scenario

feel free to have a look, you can customize a new properties called custom_vendors or something near.

+1 on this.  My contention comes with the ICMP only - and custom properties wont really help when the page shows unknown type

Interesting, i suppose that is one of the resource reporting using the vendor from the nodes table,

have you tried using report writer? you can transform a report result into a resource by using report from report writer

go to "customize page" on the top right hand corner"

click on the "+" and add this resource, report writer -> resource from report writer.

*you might need to tweak the column size depending on the report
