Veeam, ESXi and hardware monitoring

We have started to roll out more ESXi sites and are currently looking for ways to integrate the monitoring into NPM. Alot of our sites are HP based and we have created custom pollers to leverage the HP system homepage hardware details (fan, disk, controller failure etc)

With ESXi we can monitor only the most basic of SNMP counters (VM powered, VM CPu utilisation etc). With Veeam we can get details on the hardware (Fans, CPU, thermal, etc). Is there anyway to get that info into NPM? If not is there a plan for future integration (we are currently using NPM 9.5 SP3)?

This is the only similar question found and looks a bit dated.

Looks like you are also running the free version of ESXi ? We have the same situation over at our place and use Veeam for the exact same thing. My understanding is Veeam grabs the data using VMware APIs. If that is indeed the case why can't NPM or Profiler do the exact same thing ?
I hope its just a matter of time before it is implemented.

You may also want to check out another product we have geared more in depth at Virtualization if you are looking at Veeam.

you can get some more information (not as much as hyper 9 or veeam) if you upgrade NPM to a newer version 10.0 has some, but I would suggest going to the newest 10.1.2. It has some cool stuff, but no fan/power supply info though :(.
