Just letting everyone know as a FYI. The 8.5 upgrade blew away my maps and some of my custom reports. luckily I had a backup copy. Before you upgrade make sure you make a backup copy of these folders. This must be a undocumented feature of 8.5.
Gbrance,
This is the first that I have heard of any directories or data being lost via the upgrade. We have doen extensive beta testing but there are too many possible environments. It there was anything non standard about your particular installation it would be good to know so we can account for it in a future build. Also, as you stated, it is always a best practice to backup critical data befroe an upgrade. The database, reports, maps, custom web pages should always be backed up as a safety precaution.
Cheers,
The database, reports and maps folders, any ASP from custom web pages for good measure-
My setup is Server2003 32-Bit with Orion SLX version. The SQL database is on a different Server. I would consider my setup very standard.
