Upgrade from 12.0 to 2020.1.2 fails with "Invalid object name 'dbo.HA_PoolMembers'"

Hey everyone,

I recently migrated from a Win2008R2/SQL 2012 database server and a Win2008R2/NPM node to two new machines using the instructions here (https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/orionplatform/Content/Migrate_SolarWinds_to_a...
and https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/orionplatform/Content/Migrate_the_SolarWinds_...). Unfortunately I am getting this Oops, when I start the installer on the migrated NPM 12.0 node:

"Invalid object name 'dbo.HA_PoolMembers'"

The installation log file looks like this:

It seems we don't have these database tables at all. Does anybody have an explanation or solution for this?

Hi,

May i know your server config. details?

If you are using 2012 R2 , pls install .net version 4.8 and powershell version 5.1 then try.

Thanks,

Alankar

PS C:\Users\admaschwab> $PSVersionTable

Name Value

PSVersion 5.1.17763.1432
PSEdition Desktop
PSCompatibleVersions {1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0...}
BuildVersion 10.0.17763.1432
CLRVersion 4.0.30319.42000
WSManStackVersion 3.0
PSRemotingProtocolVersion 2.3
SerializationVersion 1.1.0.1

What config do you want to see?

Hi Karl,

have you deleted the HA Pool members before migration? If not please remove them first.

Below is the article for ref.

Thanks
