Unknown Devices Identification

Jump to solution

Hi,

Does anyone know why all the devices under the All Nodes/Unknown group show up as Wireless Autonomous AP when you click on them. For example, I add a HP thin client PC as ICMP only and when you go to Node Details it says Wireless Autonomous AP at the top of the screen and further down the screen it complains it has detected no wireless clients.

My Solarwinds version is 2011.1.

Is this just me or is happening to everyone?

Thanks

What are the settings in “View by Device Type”?

To checkthis, just go to Settings > Views > Views by Device Type

To revert this set Web View to (default) or Node Details.

We have changed the View for unknown devices (i.e. ICMP nodes) to "(default)" several times, but the device type for Unknown devices keeps changing back to "Wireless Autonomous AP".  Is there some way to set this so that it will stay "(default)"?

Thanks,

That's sorted it! The default view was Wireless AP for Unknown devices.

Thanks very much!
