Trap and Syslog Viewer

Question

I've got Orion and NCM both installed on the same server. How can I disable the Syslog and Trap servers of Orion so that the messages will go to the NCM database? I am wanting to get the real time config change monitoring setup inside of NCM, but it seems all the messages are going into the Orion database.

Actually, there's no need to disable the Syslog and Trap servers of Orion. NCM Syslog and Trap server are really just copies of the Orion version.

RTCD doesn't care which database the messages are being stored in. It simply requires that you setup the appropriate rule on a config change Syslog or Trap and then execute the ConfigAutoDownload.exe with the IP address. See p.55 of the NCM Admin Guide, which describes this process in detail.
