Thin AP serial numbers

I'm trying to create an inventory report of our equipment, including serial numbers.

I want to use NPM, as that is the place where all active equipment is listed.

We're also monitoring our wireless installation, including the Cisco wireless controllers and through that we can see all the Thin APs (that are also individually ICMP monitored).

I have looked around in the database but can't see serial number information on the Thin APs. Does anyone know if the information is somewhere in NPM?

I dont think we poll serial number of thin AP's. All information about AP is polled from the controller itself. You could poll serial number directly from the AP if it was added to NPM as SNMP node.

It's not possible (from what I can see) to enable snmp on the lightweight/thin APs. At least not the AIR-LAP1142N or the AIR-CAP3602I that we are using.
It would be great if you would retrieve more info from the Controller about each AP, like CDP, Serial number, uptime etc
Also, based on the ip address, it should be possible for you to link the AP with the ICMP polled device.

There are a few others that overlaps but these two specifically address my issue, either directly or in the comments section.
I hope that when you look through the feature requests, you look at ALL of them, not only those with the biggest votes, as sometimes they overlap, and a new feature can solve a number of requests at least partly.
