SolarWinds Collector Data Processor/Polling Controller restarts all the time

Jump to solution

On my solarwinds installation the two processes:

SolarWinds Collector Data Processor and

SolarWinds Collector Polling Controller

refuses to stay up.

The errors in event viewers application log are:

Description:
An unhandled exception ('System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException') occurred in SolarWinds.PollingController.exe [5192]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: Debugger could not be started because no user is logged on.

The server was working and the below patches was applied. After the required restart the two processes restarts all the time.

I have vacation so I am not really in a position to open a case, but I will look here once in a while and hope there is some answer or suggestions.

Best regards,

Steffen Lindemann

Try following first.

1. Stop all Orion services from Orion Service Manager.
2. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngineV2\Data\JobEngine35.sdf file and rename it to JobEngine35_OLD.sdf

I have no idea where the first line in my post comes from. It it not there when editing the post.

It has nothing to do with the error.
